27 May 2022 – Committee Changes and EGM Cancelled

The following has bern sent to all ATYC Member Clubs contacts today.

I am writing to advise you of the outcome of the ATYC Open Officers Meeting at Windsor on Monday 23rd May which met to discuss possible solutions to the difficulties facing the Association.

In addition to ATYC Officers and Hon VPs the meeting was attended by 8 club members from Brentford CC, Richmond YC, Thames Vintage Boat Club and IYF Rotarians Thames. Several of those attending indicated willingness to assist in supporting roles and two individuals are now considering offering themselves for committee appointments.

Following the meeting, two existing members of the committee, Chris Turner and Andrew Bernstein have now offered to take on responsibilities as joint Acting Chairmen.
The following proposal was submitted to the committee by Chris Turner and seconded by Andrew Bernstein, and has now been unanimously agreed by the committee. :
“That the position of ATYC Chairman be rotated between Andrew Bernstein and Chris Turner both as Acting Chairman until a new Chairman is elected or until the next AGM whichever is the sooner.  Such rotation periods to be agreed  between both Acting Chairman.”

With the exception of the current secretary, Mike Kolling, and myself who are now standing down, all current members of the committee have confirmed their willingness to remain in post until the AGM in 2023.
It will now, therefore, not be necessary to hold the EGM proposed for late June.

I am pleased that this solution has been agreed and that the Association can now continue under new leadership. I am sure Chris and Andrew will communicate their plans in due course.

Kind Regards,
Tony Riley
